Homecoming | Jacksonville, North Carolina

January 10th, 2017 in Homecoming Photographer, Family Lifestyle Photographer, North Carolina Photographer

Recently I was contacted as a back up shooter for a homecoming, little did I know that this Marine would be meeting his son for the first time. As soon as I found out, I was in awe and overjoyed knowing I'd have the opportunity to capture the reaction of daddies face when he saw his little man for the first time.

After 9 long months of sleepless nights for mommy & a daughter missing her daddy, the Taravella family was whole again on January 10th, 2017. Since my arrival to the Taravella home, I felt welcomed. Their daughter kept a smile on my face the entire day that I spent with them, and their son was just the cutest little peanut ever!

Shorty after arriving to their home, we left to wait the arrival of CPL Taravella. Seconds turned to minutes, and minutes turned into hours, and what had us feeling we were waiting a lifetime for his bus to arrive, but once they were there, all that anticipated time was as if we hadn't waited but a second!

My heart swarmed with happiness for their family when I saw his little girl run into his arms to welcome her daddy home and him walking up to his wife and son and kissing them both after the long nine months he had been gone. Homecomings are a whirlwind of every emotion you could imagine, but in the end, nothing matters when you have your Marine/servicemen back home in your arms. I am so glad to have had the chance to stand by Ashley's side to capture their moment for them to look back on.

                                                       Welcome home CPL Taravella!
